1. Creating your account and confirming your email
How to sign up as a funeral home and confirm your email address, the first time you use Tribute Creator.
- On the home page, click Create an account. You can also click Sign In at the top, then Don't have an account? Sign up.
- Enter your Email and your Organisation or Name, for example "Smith Funeral Home". Families see this name in the emails they get.
- Choose a Password of at least 6 characters.
- Tick the box to agree to the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy on behalf of your business, then click Create Account.
- You will see Check your inbox. Open the email called "Please verify your email for Tribute Creator".
- Click Verify my email in that email. It signs you in and opens your Dashboard.
The email has not arrived. What do I do?
It can take a minute. Check your spam or junk folder, then click Send the email again on the Check your inbox screen.
The link says it has expired.
The link works once and expires after 24 hours. Sign in and click Send the email again for a new one.
I used the wrong email address.
Click Sign out on the Check your inbox screen and create the account again with the right email.
2. Accepting the terms
What the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy agreement is, and what to do when we ask you to accept updated terms.
When you create your account, you tick a box to agree to the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy on behalf of your business. This counts as accepting them.
If the terms change later, a window called We've updated our Terms appears when you open your Dashboard. It covers credits and refunds, how long tributes are kept, your content and how we handle personal information.
- Open the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy links to read them.
- Tick I have read and agree to the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy on behalf of my business.
- Click Agree and continue.
This window can't be closed without agreeing. If you're not ready, click Sign out and come back later.
Do the families we invite have to accept the terms?
No. You accept them for the families you invite. The invitation email links to our Privacy Policy.
Where can I read the terms again?
They are always on the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy pages.
3. A tour of the Dashboard
What each tab on your Dashboard is for, so you know where to go for each job.
Your Dashboard is your funeral home's home page on Tribute Creator. Click Dashboard at the top of the website to open it. It has five tabs.
- Tributes: your credits, the Buy Credits button and the list of every tribute. Click Invite Client here to invite a family. Each tribute shows its status, such as Not started, In progress, Ready to review or Video ready.
- Analytics: how many families were invited and started, where tributes are up to and what needs you now. It also shows your most-used music, your price per tribute, tributes per month, and your purchases and invoices.
- Settings: your account details and email choices, invitation options, the starting look for new tributes and your own media library.
- Support: report a problem, ask a question or suggest a feature. Click Log a ticket, and we reply there.
- Guides: these step by step guides, without leaving your Dashboard.
New accounts also see a Getting Started panel on the Tributes tab with three steps. You can hide or show it in Settings under Getting Started Guide.
On the Tributes tab, use the filters above the list, like Needs attention, to see only the tributes waiting on you. Click a tribute to see its buttons.
Why is my Dashboard not showing the latest changes?
Click the small sync button at the top right of your Dashboard to refresh it.
What does Needs attention mean?
Tributes ready to review, with editing closed, whose video didn't generate, or with 7 days or less left and not finished.
4. The example tribute
A free example tribute in your list so you can try the editor before you invite a real family.
New funeral home accounts get their own copy of an example tribute. It appears in your list on the Tributes tab with the status Example.
- On the Tributes tab, click the example tribute to open it.
- Click Edit. A message explains This is an example tribute.
- Click Continue to editor.
- Try adding photos, videos, music and voice recordings, and play the preview.
The example doesn't use a credit. It can't be made into a downloadable video, so it has no Generate button. It isn't deleted automatically like other tributes.
Can I turn the example into a real tribute?
No. To make a real tribute, click Invite Client on the Tributes tab.
Do branch accounts get an example too?
No. The example is only added to a new funeral home's own account.
5. Your first tribute, start to finish
A short overview of the whole process, with links to the guide for each part.
- Buy credits. Click Buy Credits on the Tributes tab. Each tribute uses one credit. See Credits and pricing.
- Invite the family. Click Invite Client, enter their name, email and a password, then click Create Invite Link. See Inviting a family.
- The family adds their photos, videos, music and voice recordings from their phone or computer. Share our guide for families with them.
- Watch the status in your list. When the family is finished, it shows Ready to review.
- Click Edit to check the tribute and make any changes. See Building your tribute and Editing your tribute.
- Click Generate to make the Full HD video, then Download it when it shows Video ready. See Preview, create and deliver.
Can our staff build the tribute instead of the family?
Yes. You can open any of your tributes with Edit and add the photos yourself.
Can I change the tribute after the video is made?
No. You are asked to confirm before generating, because the video can't be changed afterwards.
Try the demo with your own photos, no sign-up needed. See pricing.
