Preview, create and deliver the video
Share a preview with the family, make the Full HD video, then download it and share it, ready for the service.

1. Preview links and QR codes for the family
Use a preview link so the family can watch the tribute and approve it before you make the final video.
- Turn the buttons on first. Go to the Settings tab, open Invitations and switch on Copy Preview Link. Switch on QR Code too if you want it.
- Go to the Tributes tab and click the family's name to open their row.
- Click Copy Preview Link. You'll see "Preview link copied to clipboard".
- Paste the link into an email or text message to the family.
- The family opens it in their browser, presses Play Tribute and checks the photos, names, dates, wording and music.
- When they're happy, they press Approve Tribute. We email you to say they have reviewed their preview.
What the QR button shows
The QR button makes a QR code for the family's invite link, not the preview. Scanning it opens their tribute so they can keep adding and editing. Click Download QR Code to save it as a picture.
Does the family need to sign in to watch the preview?
No. The preview link opens straight away in any web browser.
Will the preview show changes I make later?
Yes. The link stays the same, so the family can open it again to see the latest version.
Why can't I see Copy Preview Link?
It only shows when it's switched on in Settings, under Invitations, and the tribute has a family linked to it.
2. Creating the Full HD video
Make the finished Full HD video once you and the family are happy with the tribute.
- On the Tributes tab, open the family's row and click Edit.
- Click Preview & Create at the top of the page.
- Press Play Tribute and watch it all the way through.
- Press Generate Tribute.
- Read the notes in Ready to Generate Your Tribute? and press Generate Tribute again. Press Go Back if you need more changes.
- You'll see Rendering Your Tribute while the video is made. Please keep the page open and the video appears when it's ready.
Starting it from the Dashboard
You can also click Generate on the family's row on the Tributes tab. When the family has submitted, the button says Generate Now. The row shows Rendering, then Video ready when it's done.
Why does it say to select background music?
A tribute needs music, or No Music, chosen before it can be previewed. Choose it in Build Your Tribute.
What if it says Render failed?
Press Generate to try again. If it still doesn't work, email support@tributecreator.online and we'll sort it out.
Can I generate the example tribute?
No. The example tribute is for exploring the editor, so it can't be made into a video.
3. Downloading and sharing the video
Save the finished video to your computer so you can play it at the service and pass it to the family.
- Go to the Tributes tab. Look for the tribute showing Video ready.
- Click the family's name to open their row.
- Click Download. The video saves as an MP4 file named after the tribute.
- Copy it to the laptop or USB stick you'll use at the service, so it plays without the internet.
- Send the family their copy, for example with a file sharing service or on a USB stick.
Right after the video is made, the Preview & Create step also shows Download Tribute. On an iPhone or iPad this opens the share options, so you can save the video.
Please download the video before the date shown next to Deleted on in the tribute's row.
Can the family share it online?
Yes, for personal and memorial purposes, including YouTube and Facebook. It must not be used in advertising.
What format is the video?
A Full HD (1080p) widescreen MP4 file. It plays on phones, computers, TVs and projectors.
4. Changes after the video is made
What you can and can't do once a tribute has been made into its final video.
A tribute can be made into a video once. After that it can't be changed or generated again. This is why you're asked to confirm before it's made.
- Before you press Generate Tribute, share a preview link so the family can check everything.
- Check names, dates and spelling on the opening and closing scenes.
- Once the video is made, the tribute's row only shows Download and the delete button.

The family found a typo after the video was made. What can we do?
The video can't be edited. To make a new version, start a new tribute from Invite Client, which uses a credit.
