Managing your tributes
Read each tribute's status, find the ones waiting on you, see when tributes are deleted and get a credit back.
Updated 2026-10-19
1. The Tributes list, status words and filters
Use the Tributes tab on your Dashboard to see where every tribute is up to and find one quickly.
- Open your Dashboard and click the Tributes tab.
- Each row shows the family's name, one status word and the days left before the tribute is deleted.
- Click a filter above the list, such as In progress or Video ready, to show only those tributes.
- Click the same filter again, or All, to see every tribute.
- Click a row to open it and see its buttons and dates.
- If you have lots of tributes, click Show all at the bottom of the list.
What each status means
- Not started: the family hasn't added anything yet.
- In progress: the family is adding photos and memories.
- Editing closed: the family's editing time has ended. You can review it and generate the video.
- Ready to review: the family has submitted. Review it and generate the video.
- Rendering: the video is being made.
- Render failed: the video didn't generate. Try again or contact support.
- Video ready: the finished video is ready to download.
- Example: an example to explore the editor. It isn't deleted and can't be generated.
Hover over a status word to see what it means and the key dates. A filtered list shows the tributes closest to deletion first.
Why are some filters missing?
Editing closed, Rendering and Render failed only appear when at least one tribute has that status.
Does the list update by itself?
Yes. Statuses change on screen as families work and videos are made.
2. Needs attention
Use the Needs attention filter to see every tribute that is waiting on you or running out of time.
- Go to the Tributes tab on your Dashboard.
- Look at the number next to Needs attention. It turns red when something is waiting.
- Click Needs attention to show only those tributes, closest to deletion first.
- Open each row and decide what to do, such as review it and click Generate.
What counts as needing attention
- The family has submitted (Ready to review).
- The family's editing time has ended (Editing closed).
- The video didn't generate (Render failed).
- There are 7 days or less left and the video hasn't been made.
The days left turn amber at 7 days or less, and red at 3 days or less.
How do I clear a tribute from Needs attention?
Make the video. Once a tribute shows Video ready it no longer needs attention.
3. Tribute expiry and when tributes are deleted
See when each tribute will be deleted, so you can make and download the video in time.
Each tribute is kept for a set number of days after you invite the family. The top of the Tributes list shows this, for example "kept 40 days after invite".
- Each row shows the days left, such as "9 days left" or "Deletes today".
- Open a row to see the exact date next to Deleted on.
- If you set a family editing end date, the row also shows Family can edit until or Family editing ended.
- A row showing Kept isn't deleted on a date. The example tribute isn't deleted either.
When a tribute is deleted, its video goes too. Please download the video before the Deleted on date.
Emails before deletion
We email you 7 days and 1 day before a tribute is deleted. These warnings are always sent and can't be switched off.
Changing how long tributes are kept
Go to the Settings tab, open Account and change Tribute active period. You can choose up to 40 days.
Can a tribute be kept for longer?
You can choose a shorter period in Settings. If you need one kept longer, email us before its deletion date and we may be able to help.
When does the family stop being able to edit?
On the family editing end date, if you set one. The tribute is still kept until its Deleted on date.
4. Deleting a tribute and getting the credit back
Delete a tribute you no longer need, and get its credit back if the video hasn't been made.
- Go to the Tributes tab and click the family's name to open their row.
- Click the bin button, Delete tribute, on the right.
- Read the message. All media, recordings and files are removed for good.
- Click Delete Tribute to confirm, or Cancel to keep it.
If the video hasn't been made, the credit comes back to your account automatically. A credit isn't returned once the video has been made.
After you delete it, the family can no longer open the tribute.
Can a deleted tribute be brought back?
No. Deleting can't be undone, so download the video first if it has been made.
A branch used a credit from head office. Where does it go?
Back to the account the credit came from.
5. Importing a tribute
Importing tribute settings from a file is done by the Tribute Creator team, not from your Dashboard.
There is no Import option on your Dashboard. If you think you need a tribute's settings brought in from a file, ask us through the Support tab.
